Introduction 

The Foreshore is an area in Cape Town, South Africa, situated between the historic city center and the modern Port of Cape Town. It is built on land reclaimed from Table Bay in the 1930s and 1940s. History 

The Foreshore area was underwater until the 1940s. In total, 194 hectares were reclaimed on the southern and southeastern shore of Table Bay, facing the central city, Woodstock, and Paardeneiland.This project allowed for the expansion of the city and the development of modern infrastructure, including the Duncan Dock, which replaced the old harbor. Over the decades, the Foreshore has evolved into a key commercial and residential hub in Cape Town.
